Anemometers are a data logging device that measures the speed of the wind. An anemometer is also a general weather station instrument. Anemometers are useful in measuring conditions such as temperature, humidity, dew point, air velocity and a lot more in indoors and the outdoors. There are options of having it as desktop, handheld or mounting. Anemometers come in various forms.

Hot Wire Anemometers
A hot wire anemometer has a thin wire that is electrically heated to a certain temperature. As air passes the wire, it cools it. Hot wires are usually made up of tungsten as the electrical resistance is dependent on the temperature of the metal. A hot wire anemometer can be classified into three separate hot wire devices; CCA (constant current anemometer), CVA (constant voltage anemometer) and CTA (constant temperature anemometer). A circuit within these hot wire anemometer devices stabilizes the variables thus resulting in the voltage output. A hot wire anemometer is delicate but at the same time has a high-frequency response as compared to other measuring tools.
What Can Wind Meters Do?
Wind meters are a data logging device that can help with the weather forecast beforehand. A wind meter measures the speed of the wind, it tells us how fast or slow it is moving and in what direction it is moving. Wind meters are made as a hot wire wind meter or as a pocket weather wind meter. These wind measuring devices measure the velocity and air pressure. The wind meter devices simply measure and store the records on the device.
Wind meters are the best device to measure the speed of the wind simply and quickly. The pocket weather wind meter devices are put into service as hot wire wind meters, cup wind meters, vane wind meters or waterproof wind meters depending on what context its suppose to be used in.
More About Wind Speed Meters
A wind speed meter is used to measure the air velocity and air pressure. Moreover, it can be made as a hot wire wind meter or a pocket weather wind meter and will gather the same information. Wind speed meters can also check the performance of an air conditioning system as well as a ventilation system. Furthermore, wind speed meters can be used to measure wind velocity while sailing. Wind speed meters have the data logging function, thus users can store the data that is measured on the internal storage of the device. Moreover, the data from the wind speed meters can be transferred to a computer.
